According to legends, Lord Venkateswara borrowed some money from Lord Kubera, the divine treasurer to pay his wedding expenses. It is believed that Lord Venkateswara is still paying back his debts to Kubera in the form of the generous donations of the pilgrims received by the temple funds.

When Hanuman didn’t return within the auspicious hour, Devi Sita made a Linga from sand to perform the puja ritual on time. The Ramanatha Swamy Temple is located at the place on the island towards the east near the sea. It is amongst the 12 popular Jyotirlinga Shrines known for its massive sculptured pillars and magnificent corridors. Towards the night, we will return to your hotel in Madurai for a relaxing sleep.
